Our artisan producers are expert craftspeople in their field. We work with skilled weavers and make our rugs and fabrics responsibly with respect for the planet, people, communities, tradition and craft. Our responsible approach means making considered decisions about who we work with, the yarns we choose and how we deliver our products.
We work with the best manufacturers to make our collections. The people we work with are extremely important to us, as are ethical and fair working conditions. We are very proud that all our rugs are created in collaboration with Momo Rugs and are endorsed by the Care & Fair label. The Care & Fair certificate confirms that no child labour is used, the weavers enjoy good living conditions and fair wages. We small-batch produce and make to order to ensure we make only what we need and minimise waste.
We're also making good decisions about what our products are made from - our New Zealand wool meets the International Wool Textile Organisation's standards to ensure a sustainable future for wool. We are introducing more Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic linen to our fabric collections and using repurposed waste plastic to make rugs from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
Our Recycled Plastic Bottle Rugs are possibly our most sustainable product range to date. This collection of patterned flat weave rugs is made of repurposed plastic bottles, and dyed with Azo-free dyes.
We are working to eliminate all plastic packaging. All our boxed products, such as cushions and throws, are now plastic-free. We are working on finding a greener alternative to the protective plastic sleeves that we transport our rugs and fabrics in. If you manufacture an environmental packaging option, we'd love to hear from you!
