APD Interiors are an interior design consultancy company founded in 2004 by Andrew Dunning, who is now considered to be one of the leading interior designers in London. Based in Islington, APD Interiors offer full design and build services for house refurbishments, extensions, bespoke kitchens and custom bathrooms.
APD Interiors are embracing the rediscovery of colour in interiors, and in a recent London townhouse refurbishment they have created a stunning effect pairing dark and sumptuous colours with patterned accents and contemporary lighting effects.
Using the rich coloured Farrow & Ball Stiffkey Blue in the double reception room, they create the perfect backdrop for a luxurious velvet sofa and custom upholstered chairs and patterned accessories. Colour is at the centre of this scheme. Dark blues and greens across the furnishings accenting the dark walls, warmed by the soft berry hue of the sofa, and highlighted by the light wood effect flooring and white window shutters and paintwork. Textural metallic contrasts are added in silver cushions and the gold lampshade lining.
But more than just this, the considered contemporary lighting is central to the overall scheme, with the power to transform the mood and atmosphere of the room with the changing light. Our Vermarette Bleu lampshade with a gold lining illuminates the walls with a yellow glow casting a green effect across those rich blue walls, pulling together all the green, blue and teal shades of the fabrics. The effects of light and colour are intrinsically intertwined, and this room is a perfect example.
The room includes our Vermarette Bleu Lampshade with gold lining created in collaboration with Mockbee & Co, Margo Selby cushions, and custom upholstered chairs in Osborne and Little fabrics. Read more about APD Interiors over on their website: www.apdinteriors.com
