Customise any of our rugs or we can create something entirely bespoke for you. Our design service is available to private individuals and trade clients.
Designing your custom or bespoke rug begins with an initial consultation. For local customers we can arrange a home or site visit so that you may view some rugs, samples and all of our colours in situ. If a visit is not possible, we can send you samples and colour poms in the post, or match to your own fabric samples or colour references that you send to us. Seeing rug samples and the yarn colours in your home is the best way to decide if the design and colours are right for your room. You can also send us photos of your room if you would like design advice, for example, on colour, pattern, rug size and placement.
Following this initial discussion or meeting, we will prepare some design sketches for you to view. We will send you a few variations of the customised or bespoke design, to give you options to comment on and select from. The design process will continue until you are happy with your rug design.
Approval of your rug design also includes approving the colours. We use a range of 1200 colour poms (wool yarn tufts) for colour reference. This is much more accurate than computer screens or print-outs, as the yarns will be dyed to match the same colour references by the master dyers in India or Portugal, where our rugs are made. When everything has been agreed and approved, we will send you a final design sketch and order confirmation.
Our custom and bespoke rugs take approximately 10 weeks to be made from approval of the design and after receipt of a deposit. Very large rugs can take a little longer. Whenever possible, we will send you photos of your rug being made so you can follow it’s journey.
Once your rug is ready for delivery we will contact you to arrange a convenient time to deliver. Please note that we do not offer an installation service.
We'd love to hear from you if you are looking for a custom rug. Please send us a message here, and we'll be in touch very soon.
