Indigo blues and sea greens combine to create a beautifully rich melody of colour.
Colour is energy, and we are simultaneously affected by the combined effects of all colours in a room or a design, similar to our reaction to music. A single colour might be likened to a single musical note, and a group of colours to a chord or melody. Individual shades, tones and tints are like musical notes, sharps or flats. The materials used add instrumental variations to colours too - fibres or yarns mixed with copper/metallics or wood. How all the colours and textures harmonise together is what we react to; the overall effect.
Our indigo marble rug made in collaboration with Rug-Maker illustrates this rich melody of colour and creates a statement design centre-piece for a room: layers of tones and full harmonious colours used in a rhythmic pattern. Accessorise the room with cushions and throws in the softer colours from the rug such as our Les Burons weaves.
By the way, we are running a Competition on Instagram this week, ending on Sunday, to win a £250 Gift Voucher to spend on one of our rugs. Enter the competition on Instagram!
